LESSON 1 · FREE PREVIEW

Read the label, save the jumper

The care label is your primary source. Check it before choosing a program, temperature or drying method. Different fabrics need different treatment, and “hotter must be better” is a poor research hypothesis.

Empty pockets, close relevant fastenings and separate items according to their care needs and color-transfer risk. Treat a stain using a suitable method for the fabric. If uncertain, stop and check rather than experimenting on someone’s favorite garment.

YOUR PRACTICAL ASSIGNMENTRead the care labels on three different garments before the next wash.
